Vagrant Skies and its website are created and maintained by akaitori, also known just as Tori. Third-person aside, I'm a queer Colombian man that loves art, biology and reading! Vagrant Skies is a project that began sometime in 2013, sparked by dreams of flight and a love for fantasy. Despite the tall goal of someday writing novels set in the world of VS, I must admit I enjoy more the worldbuilding side of things—hence the creation of this website!
About the website
While this website was made after dozens of hours trying to decipher the mysteries of Visual Studio Code and fiddling with CSS like a fly against a window, none of this wouldn't have been possible without the resources of incredibly skilled people.

About the project
Vagrant Skies is my baby, but it takes a village for a child to grow. Even if this is a solo project, I would have hardly written anything if it weren't thanks to the support of family, friends, and writers more skilled than I.
Special thanks to my closest friends, who are always willing to hear about my silly bird guys and cheering on my projects. Shoutout to Rocket, Vin and Bird, Caro and Isa, Defiant and Nix, you guys rock
> Worldbuilding resources
- Artifexian's worldbuilders log, Worldbuildingpasta's blog, and Madeline James Writes articles have been critical for everything mapmaking.
- r/conlangs and u/jafiki91's conlang guide are stellar resources for constructing languages.
> Inspirations
While not directly taking from them, the following have greatly impacted the direction of Vagrant Skies:
- The Newsflash series by Mira Grant
- The Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch
- The Stormbite universe by T. Hearts
- When we Have Wings by Claire Corbett
- Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (2021 book)
- Gattaca (1997 film)
